NEW Resident Info/FAQ

Mailboxes:

If you have a mailbox by the road in front of your home, there's nothing you need to do to begin receiving your mail at that mailbox.

If your home utilizes the community mailboxes at the park, you will need to go to the Hahira Post Office to establish your address and get your set of mailbox keys. Please note: The decision to implement this type of mailbox was made by the Post Master, not the HOA.

Grove Pointe Facebook Groups:

We have two PRIVATE Facebook groups dedicated to Grove Pointe residents. For the privacy and security of our neighborhood, all requests to join these groups will be vetted to ensure that the requesting individual owns the property or is renting from the property owners. All group membership questions must be fully answered for consideration to be admitted to the group, and we DO fact check.

1. Grove Pointe Residents Facebook Group:

Used by HOA board to make announcements and share information with residents

Used by residents to share information or ask questions - any posts that should be in the marketplace will be removed from the resident page and requested to post in the marketplace group.

2. Grove Pointe Marketplace Facebook Group:
Used by residents; neighborhood buy/sell group

Please note:  The HOA Board is not notified when questions are asked in this Grove Pointe Residents Facebook group and the board does not monitor Facebook messenger; that is why it is critical to email when you have a question or concern on which you need assistance.

Contacting the Grove Pointe HOA Board:

The best way to contact the HOA Board is by sending an email to grovepointehoa@gmail.com.  HOA Board members monitor this email account and respond as quickly as possible.

APPROVAL REQUESTS: Email grovepointehoa@gmail.com to request approval for tree removal, to request approval for changes or additions to the exterior of your home (such as fence, shed, pool, painting home a different color, etc), to report covenant violations, to reserve the pavilion, or to ask general questions about Grove Pointe.

Things the HOA doesn’t govern:

The HOA Board is often contacted for issues not governed by the HOA. Below is contact information for the most common of these concerns:

Misdirected or missing mail (USPS)

Contact the Hahira Post Office, 229-794-8132. By posting in the residents Facebook group and delivering mail/packages to correct

recipient, we “mask” the issues of incorrect delivery and the postmaster is unaware of any issues.

Street lights burned out

Contact Colquitt EMC, 229-244-6893. You will need the yellow number from the light pole, and/or the closest street address (to the burned out light) to report burned out street lights.

Soliciting, Golf Cart violations

Contact the Lowndes County Sheriff non-emergency number: 229-245-5270

Some common things the HOA does Govern:

Grove Pointe Park and Pavilion use:

To ensure that HOA funded facilities are equally available to all property owners during park hours, private parties are not permitted at the park/pavilion.  For this same reason, organized sports team practices are not permitted at the park/pavilion.

Exterior changes to Grove Pointe homes

All exterior changes/additions to a home in Grove Pointe require HOA approval before starting.  This includes, but is not limited to: building a shed, painting your house a new color, installing a fence, installing a pool, building a porch or pergola, pouring a concrete pad or driveway widening pad, cutting down a tree.

To request approval for any exterior changes to your home, send an email to grovepointehoa@gmail.com detailing your proposed changes.

A specific reminder on fence construction from our Restrictive Covenants: Fences shall be constructed of wood or wrought iron only, but may include brick columns.  Fences may not be taller than six feet in height.  Vinyl, chain link, PVC or any other fencing material is prohibited.  The fence shall have the finished side facing the exterior of the lot.  No fencing is allowed in the front yard of the house and may not extend further towards the front of a house than 15 feet from the rear wall of a house.

You can find a complete copy of Grove Pointe’s Restrictive Covenants, on our grovepointehahirahoa.com website in the "Covenants" tab.

Landscape Maintenance:

Each Grove Pointe homeowner is responsible for the maintenance of the landscape on their property.  In addition to lawn mowing, edging and weed maintenance, trees and shrubs should be trimmed and shaped when needed. Trees/shrubs should never obstruct sidewalks or streets. Failure to keep grounds properly maintained may result in a notice for unsightly grounds, and/or fines. See Grove Pointe Restrictive Covenants, paragraphs 5.04 and 5.05 for more information.

Cars are not allowed to be parked on the grass. RVs should not be parked in the driveway for an extended period. Please reach out to the HOA if you need to park an RV on your property over 3 days.

Yard Signs:

NO SIGNS of any kind can be posted in your yard. (Other than Real Estate Signs, marketing the sale of your home.)

Annual HOA Dues:

Annual HOA Dues are posted to each Property Owner’s account on January 1.  You may pay your HOA Dues anytime after they were posted to your account.  If HOA dues are not paid by March 1, your HOA Dues become past due and an 18% late fee will be added.  HOA annual dues do not include pool membership.  Please note:  Grove Pointe’s HOA Board has asked Valdosta Properties to turn off the auto-generated email reminders sent between January 1 and March 1 advising property owners they have a past due balance. Valdosta Properties is not able to turn these reminders off for a single neighborhood under their management. Please disregard any past due email notices received prior to March 1.

Valdosta Properties serves as our Property Manager:

Valdosta Properties serves as the property manager for Grove Pointe, collecting annual HOA dues and pool membership fees.  Grove Pointe HOA dues may be paid via the Valdosta Properties online portal or in person at their Valdosta Properties office, located at 2502 Jerry Jones Drive, Suite C4, Valdosta.  Payments must be made out to:  Grove Pointe Property Owner’s Association.

If you are not yet set up for portal payments, email marketing@valdostaproperties.com and provide contact information (name, address, phone number) and they will send you a link to activate your portal account.
